K-W Seniors Day Program

K-W Seniors Day Program provides a high-quality Adult Day Service in Waterloo Region that enables seniors and older adults with physical disabilities, cognitive impairments and medically complex issues to remain living in their own homes through the provision of therapeutic, social activities, nutritional meals and personal care supports. The K- W Seniors Day Program is a non-profit organization which leases space from Sunnyside Long Term Care facility.


Region:  Kitchener-Waterloo & Area

Description:  We are seeking 1 Personal Support Worker / Activity Programmer for our expanded adult day program service to work Wednesday afternoon (12:30pm - 7:00pm) and every Saturday and Sunday (9:30 am to 4:00pm).

Additional hours may be available through casual relief and on-call for sick time or vacation coverage.
Qualified applicants will work cooperatively with program staff, volunteers and/or students delivering adapted activities and programs to meet the social, physical, emotional and cognitive needs of clients with complex medical conditions, physical disabilities and mild to moderate cognitive impairment.

The ideal candidate will possess Personal Support Worker credentials and may have additional education and/or experience in recreation, gerontology, social services, or a related discipline accompanied with experience working with seniors or adults with disabilities. Computer proficiency, strong oral and written communication skills, creativity and flexibility, an ability to work independently, and knowledge of the needs of the client base are essential.

Salary:  19.50 per hour

Terms of Employment:  Part-Time
